An ottoman or pouf is a easily placed piece of furniture that takes up little space but can be used for many purposes! Keep reading for four examples of how an ottoman or pouf can make your home not only more comfortable but also more stylish and flexible.

4 Ways to Arrange with Ottomans & Poufs

  1. A comfortable sofa or armchair becomes even more enjoyable with an ottoman to rest your feet on. Place the ottoman in front of the seating furniture, and you have created a lovely divan. Just remember that the height of the ottoman should be the same or slightly lower than the seating height of the furniture.
  2. By placing the ottoman more independently, you can also use it as an extra seat in the living room seating group. Perfect when you have guests!
  3. A sturdy ottoman or pouf can also double as a coffee table or side table. Add a suitable tray if you want a stable, durable surface to place your tea cup or wine glass on.
  4. An ottoman or pouf also works well in other rooms of the home, such as a small seat by the shoe rack in the hallway or as an accent piece at the foot of the bed in the bedroom.

Match or mix the style?

Here you will find exclusive ottomans upholstered in fabrics such as linen, cotton, wool blend, and polyester. On some of our ottomans, you can choose the upholstery yourself from our exclusive collection of furniture fabrics. We also have ottomans in leather and rattan. Match them with your armchair or sofa for a subtle, cohesive impression, or break it up with an unconventional ottoman – contrasts in color, shape, and material bring a livelier expression to the interior.

In addition to being a practical piece of furniture, the ottoman or pouf can also serve as a style marker, an interior detail that adds that little extra to the room. We have sleek, classic, and traditional ottomans, but also models with exciting design language and bolder materials such as fur-like microfiber or plexiglass.

Care Instructions

Here you will find general care instructions for some of the materials commonly used in Artwood’s ottomans and poufs. Details in metal, wood, and plexiglass can be wiped clean with a lightly damp cloth.

Ottomans & Poufs in Fabric

  • Furniture upholstered in fabric benefits from regular vacuuming. Dust and lint from other textiles can otherwise cause pilling on the fabric.
  • It is also recommended to treat the fabric with textile protection spray. This helps the surface resist dirt.
  • For stains, we recommend using Textile Clean & Protect. Use the water-based cleaning foam to clean the upholstery and the protective spray to provide continued protection. Some of our ottomans and poufs have removable fabric covers. In such cases, dry cleaning is recommended for the covers unless otherwise stated on the product.

Ottomans & Poufs in Leather

  • Leather furniture is generally durable and easy to care for. Vacuum the ottoman or pouf with a soft brush attachment to remove dust and crumbs, and wipe it with a lightly damp cloth.
  • Stains should ideally be wiped away immediately before they are absorbed by the leather. Use a soft cloth with lukewarm water (note that water should not be used on Nubuck) and possibly a mild soap or leather cleaner. Avoid strong cleaning agents.
  • If the leather gets minor scratches or scuff marks, you can gently “rub them out” with a clean finger.
  • It is also important to periodically moisturize the leather, as dry leather is less resistant. Therefore, regularly clean and care for your ottoman or pouf with Leather Clean & Protect. The package contains products for both leather care and maintenance (excluding suede, nubuck, or bycast).

Ottomans & Poufs in Rattan

  • Clean your rattan ottoman by vacuuming it with a soft brush attachment.
  • You can also wipe the furniture with a lightly damp cloth. Avoid using strong cleaning agents as they can damage the rattan. If you spill something on a rattan piece, quickly rinse or wipe off the spill, as it may cause permanent stains.
  • Natural rattan can become dry and brittle over time. You can easily prevent this by gently moisturizing the surface occasionally using a spray bottle filled with water.
